Mengapa saya memblog?
From Anasalwa (http://funnyaccent.typepad.com/)
As long as I remember, I've always enjoyed writing. I've always carried a spiral note book with me and I would write anything that I intrigued me. I began to have my own blog five years ago when I discovered Type Pad offered a free template and space that had the same concept as writing a journal. It took me a couple of days to consider to publish my first blog to public.
As I began to enjoy writing about my daily experiences as a Malay woman living in US, I find myself getting more cautious to write about my personal issues that I felt I didn't want to share with public, but at the same time I wanted to share my disappointments, my joys and my point of views of issues that I passionate about.
As I was getting comfortable writing my thoughts and actions in my blog, I began to experiment my writings by putting down my thought about religion, culture and negative attitude and habit of the people I know well. What amazed me was the negative reactions (Malay readers) I received were not written in a comment section, but they sent me emails instead. I never responded to any of these emails who called me names because of my life styles they didn't approve.
From the beginning when I decided to write the blog, I was fully aware that I wanted to write for myself and not to please anybody. Some people might like my thought and action, some people might hate me for who I was and who I have become. And it was fine with me and it still is. But at the same time, I am responsible for the actions and the words that I write.
I cannot make assumption about anything or anybody just by reading their blogs, but I cannot stop people from making assumption about me.
I am the product of my environment, my life experiences and the way my parents brought me up have molded and shaped me to become who I am today.
I think all of us have our ways to do a good deeds and spread the kindness and intentions, and blogging is the easiest way to do it.
